South Dakota’s Premiere Food Festival

Brand New Location in 2019!

In 2018, on the heels of the South Dakota Legislature declaring Chislic South Dakota’s official “State Nosh”, the South Dakota Chislic Festival was established in Freeman. Anticipating from 1500-2000 people, the event was wildly popular drawing well 8000-10,000 visitors to the region in less than 4 hours.

In 2019, the event will be moved to the Freeman Prairie Arboretum, called by some “the region’s most beautiful hidden jewel”. The 40-acre area in the SW corner of Freeman has been developed into one of the region’s most beautiful vistas - decorated by ponds, grasses, plants, flowers, sculptures, and more than a mile worth of walking paths.
