Freeman's Chautauqua 2017 & Old Fashioned Saturday Night! (July 27-29, 2017)

Something new from something old is coming to Freeman this summer!

History is meeting modern natural splendor - modern entertainment, heritage, and education coming together in the most natural focal point of history, community, and culture around - Freeman, South Dakota.

First, a Chautauqua - located on the fabulous Freeman Prairie Arboretum alongside the historic Heritage Hall Museum and beautiful Freeman Academy campus, the three day-event will be held July 27-29, 2017. With entertainment and activities, dialogue with leaders in the agriculture, biotech, and cultural sectors, and public forums for issues of the day, it truly will be an event for all ages.

Then, on July 29 - at 5 PM - the Old Fashioned Saturday Night begins! Food, games, and downtown fun for all! Check out the schedule below:

Freeman Jamboree - Friday, July 28

Free live bluegrass and gospel music starting at 7 PM in the "Big Tent"!

Grilled Chicken Fundraiser - Friday, July 28 - 5:30 - 7 PM

Heritage Hall Museum and the Prairie Arboretum will be serving grilled chicken, baked beans, salad, and ice cream floats on the Prairie Arboretum grounds. Plate charge.

Immediately following the Saturday Night Chautauqua - head downtown for the FCDC's Old Fashioned Saturday Night!
